Is Eczema Contagious?

This is a common question that people who are not aware about skin disorders usually asks. Can eczema spread from one person to another? Is eczema contagious?

The answer is no. Eczema is usually not triggered due to bad hygiene. In fact, in many cases, eczema is related to allergens or irritants in the environment that the patient breathes in. One major trigger for eczema is stress.

What is the exact cause of eczema? It appears that since many explanations abound, research has not shed adequate light on why some are more sceptible than others. Hereditary factors is but just one explanation. But not everyone with eczema appears to have parents that have a skin condition. I know mine does not nor my close relatives. Yet, I am the one with this condition.
