SofaConsidering a furniture overhaul with a new set of shiny leather sofa, which you have been eyeing for months? Well, if you are an [tag-tec]eczema[/tag-tec] sufferer, then this is news that you do not want to miss.

Doctors in the UK have reported a sudden increase in the number of patients complaining about eczema rash. On investigation, it is found that these patients have recently bought themselves new leather sofas. At last count, doctors have treated more than 130 people who suddenly developed the skin disorder.

On further investigation, it seems all the sofas came from the same manufacturer in China. It is now suspected that the sofas may contain an allergen never seen before. Studies are still being conducted to determine what this allergen is.

I consider it great that the British can pinpoint the source of the problem so quickly. I am not sure though if a refund can be requested based on [tag-ice]eczema[/tag-ice] reasons. Unfortunately, I have also been unable to find out the name of the manufacturer from China, producing the sofas. But one thing is for sure….either buy sofas made elsewhere or hold off your purchase for the time being, if you intend to get new leather seats for your home.

I’ve wondered at the possibility if the cause of eczema is partly due to deeper emotional problems. Repressed anger has been suggested by holistic practitioners as one of the root causes of eczema. Read this blog post that I wrote a few months back .

If this is truly the case, then an eczema treatment will not be complete without looking internally to resolve some of the blockages that exist in our subconscious mind.

Well, I’ve been seeking emotional healing on an intensive basis in the recent months. It is through therapy with my EFT practitioner that I am finding out what childhood memories have been causing me repressed anger. Do note that on a conscious level, I am not aware of them. During the therapy sessions, I managed to dig up quite a couple of them.

Siewfan, my EFT practitioner tells me that if I do not release the negative emotions that are holding me back, toxins will find its way to be released through the skin. All physical symptoms are a manifestation of the imbalance that exists in any aspect of mind-body-spirit. Hence, an effective eczema treatment can be found by restoring this balance.

For the benefit of readers who do not know what EFT is, EFT simply means Emotional Freedom Technique. According to Gary Craig, who founded this technique, this principle holds true “The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.”

And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true…

“Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases.”

In a recent therapy session I went through, I released pent up emotions which were triggered from the time when I spent my days in a playpen as a toddler. Here’s the post that I wrote on a blog that I set up for discussions on emotional healing ==> EFT Tapping – Release From The Playpen.

Emotional healing needs to occur first before success can be experienced on other levels as well. Be it in relationships, wealth, or health. Everything is interwined. If you want positive things to happen to you, you also need to emit positive energy. This would also mean that your inner self has to be whole and complete.

Hence, an eczema treatment resulting from repressed anger cannot be by just topical steroids alone. It may sound traumatic to open up a can of worms to deal with the emotional blockages. But not addressing them would mean that I continue to bury repressed anger. Layer upon layer of anger can easily cause another outbreak of eczema. And that is what I want to prevent!
