If you wish to determine if any food is triggering your eczema flare up, consider maintaining a diary. A food diary helps you keep track of what you are eating and to uncover causes and effects. Additionally, you can also find ways to improve your diet, so as to strengthen your immune system. If your diet is too acidic, you can maintain records of fruits and vegetables that you need to eat in order to up your alkaline ratio.
You can use a spreadsheet for a food diary or any electronic means for journal taking. Obviously, the more details that you take down, the easier it is to observe patterns. If you do it via a spreadsheet, you can even draw out charts to notice trends. You will need to know how many calories, carbs, fats, proteins, etc., that you are eating on a daily basis, so you will need someway of measuring the food you eat. Measurement tools that you require include a kitchen scale, measuring cups and measuring spoons.
Also, some basic knowledge about what makes up good nutrition helps. Consider visiting your local library to borrow a book on this subject. Knowing how to read nutrition labels on the foods that you purchase is also necessary.
On the first page of your food diary, take down your starting point. The information you should write down include what your starting weight and height is and what your goals are in terms of improving the condition of your skin. Make your goals measurable and more exciting eg. to be able to wear a mini skirt to show off your previously skin infected legs is a good incentive!!
The diary is a record of ALL of the foods you eat each day. Hence you need to record not just some of the food, but all the meals and snacks taken. Also, include details on all beverages and liquids that you take.

One of the physical consequences of stress can be eczema. You tend to itch more as a response to the tension that you experience in your body. There will be several times in your life when you need to face stress. Sometimes you have control over these circumstances and sometimes you do not. When you have little control over the stressors in your life, then it is important that you learn how to cope with stress. y
Everyone reacts to stress differently. So it is important that you do not compare your response with others and ask yourself unhelpful questions like why your friend is not suffering physically as much as you do. Instead, focus on what may be useful for better stress management techniques.
There are many physical signs of stress. One of the biggest signs that you may notice is muscle tension. You may feel achy muscles since it is harder to relax completely when you are feeling stressed. During a stressful situation, it is not uncommon to pull up your shoulders. You can help yourself by releasing tenstion and taking some time to stretch out every now and then.
Sweating is another common physical sign of being stressed. When you are feeling overly stressed, you may experience sweating all over your body, or you might have sweaty palms. Sweating unfortunately can cause you to itch more especially if you have sensitive skin. You need to be aware that you are in a heightened state of tension. Breathe normally and switch your thoughts to more relaxing ones. As sweating comes down, so will your itching.
Stress may also cause you to feel like you have indigestion and you may have a harder time in the elimination of your bowels. A build up in toxins can trigger an eczema flare up when the body finds that it has no other way of releasing what needs to be removed. Doing some form of yoga can also help you improve digestion and also reduce stress levels.
