Eczema can be triggered by a toxic body. You would want to reduce the amount of toxins that you consume, therefore. Hence it is important that instead of using drugs, you consider the use of natural remedies. Overuse of antibiotics to combat bacterial infections is a source of problem for a breakdown in the liver, kidney and nervous system. Natural remedies can also be used to boost your immune system. They are better for the body, invoking your natural mechanism to fight off diseases and infections.

Some symptoms of a weakened immune system are slow healing wounds, fatigue, repeated infections, allergic reactions, chronic diarrhea, always getting oral thrush or vaginal yeast infections or other fungal infections. Another sign of poor immune system is evidenced by dark circles under the eyes. The immune system is made up of bone marrow, lymphatic vessels, white blood cells, organs, and specialized cells that are found in body tissues and also specialized substances called serum factors that are found in your blood. All of these things come together to form the immune system and to protect your body against disease.

Here are some natural herbs, vitamins, supplements and natural home remedies that when taken can help your immune system to stay strong:

1. Astragalus boosts your immune system and can even generate anticancer cells in your body. It is a powerful antioxidant that also protects the liver from toxins.

2. Consider garlic to fight against frequent sore throats, coughs, or the flu? Garlic may have a pungent smell and takes some getting used to; but it is effective against bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi. It has effective anti-inflammatory properties.

2. Echinacea is excellent for boosting the immune system and aids in lymphatic function.

3. Goldenseal also strengthens the immune system. It can also cleanse and detoxify the body. It also has anti-bacteria properties, which also helps to prevent disease.

4. A good recipe for the immune system is made from 2 cups of water, 1 tsp each of Echinacea root, chamomile leaves, shizandra berries, and peppermint leaves.

5. The most important vitamin for your immune system is vitamin C. Vitamin C is vital to the formation of adrenal hormones and the production of lymphocytes that are used to battle infections. Vitamin C is best combined with bioflavonoids, because they absorb and reinforce the action of vitamin C.

6. Bioflavonoids are the natural pigments in fruits and vegetables. There is over 800 different bioflavonoids most of which are contained in fruit and vegetables that have yellow pigments. Bioflavonoids can stop or slow down the growth of malignant cells. Bioflavonoids are also natural antibiotics. Bioflavonoids are contained in apricots, cherries, grapefruits, blackberries, black currants, grapes, oranges broccoli, cantaloupes, and also lemons.

Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. I have had a terrible year with severe skin issues on my arms and legs. At one point, I didn’t have any skin on the backs of my hands or on my shins. Just constantly weeping open wounds. I won’t use steroids because I am a cancer survivor (my cancer had receptors for estrogen, which is a steroid). I am now seeing a naturopath and doing a gentle detoxification. My arms and hands are nearly completely healed and my legs, which I had given up on, are 1 to 2 weeks away from being healed. It’s miraculous. My naturopath says she sees skin conditions respond well to detox regimes. Keep putting out this information!

Hello Ong, thanks for sharing your testimonial on acai berries. I’d look into this natural remedy!

Hello Liz, I’m so glad to find out that you’ve gotten good results with detoxifying and natural health regimes. It is great that you are in the good hands of a naturopath who has the sense to put you on a gentle detox rather than a harsh one. All the best!!
