SofaConsidering a furniture overhaul with a new set of shiny leather sofa, which you have been eyeing for months? Well, if you are an [tag-tec]eczema[/tag-tec] sufferer, then this is news that you do not want to miss.

Doctors in the UK have reported a sudden increase in the number of patients complaining about eczema rash. On investigation, it is found that these patients have recently bought themselves new leather sofas. At last count, doctors have treated more than 130 people who suddenly developed the skin disorder.

On further investigation, it seems all the sofas came from the same manufacturer in China. It is now suspected that the sofas may contain an allergen never seen before. Studies are still being conducted to determine what this allergen is.

I consider it great that the British can pinpoint the source of the problem so quickly. I am not sure though if a refund can be requested based on [tag-ice]eczema[/tag-ice] reasons. Unfortunately, I have also been unable to find out the name of the manufacturer from China, producing the sofas. But one thing is for sure….either buy sofas made elsewhere or hold off your purchase for the time being, if you intend to get new leather seats for your home.

    Hello,

My son has always suffered eczema but we actually bought a leather sofa from argos last november… end of november, my son’s eczema (6 years old)went very very bad and he began to have a skin infection on his head. I saw 4 different doctors and went also to A&E where they told me not to worry… On 27th november we went back toi doctor as now there was an egg like thing oin my son’s head giving him headache with a yellow discharge… They took him in hospital straight away and he was on drip for 5 days and away from school for 2 and a half weeks… We have never known what it was exactly and he s lost his hair as well… Last sunday, a itchy rash appeared all over my son’s body with vomiting also, went to A&E where doctors gave him a anti histamine, antibiotis and adecuous cream but accepted they’re not sure what he’s got… last night, a friend of mine watched watchdog and thought of my son… and actually it does add up… as myself, my hubby and our 16 month old other son have been itching more than usual but nothing like our son…
I’ve contacted watchdog and hope to take thiungs further and most of all, that my son will recover quickly…
By the way the name of the chinese supplier is Linkwise… Apparently the problems of the itchy sofas is not only in england but all over the world…
