The National Eczema Week starts today (Sept 15) and ends on Sept 23.  The week of events is held by The National Eczema Society in the U.K. Supporters for this year are encouraged to turn up in pjyamas.  The chosen theme comes from the fact that eczema sufferers need nothing more than a good night’s sleep.

I can certainly identify with that.  I’ve always been a light sleeper.  In my 20s, I also suffered from insomina for a long time.  However, nothing quite prepared me for losing sleep for a continuous 6 months while I waged a war against [tag-tec]eczema[/tag-tec] last year.  It was the mother of all eczema outbreaks.  It spread from my legs, to my hand, back, neck and at one stage, my face as well.

I just couldn’t sleep.  Or I would wake up several times in the night, itching and scratching.  I remembered the desperation and frustration I felt. It was hard as I was stuck in an itch-scratch-itch cycle.  I had stopped using hydrocorts by then as I had found them ineffective in helping me.

Losing sleep for that time period caused me to feel tired throughout the day. I was listless and miserable.  I also lost a great deal of weight in the process.  It was not a state that you would wish on anyone.

However, I started reading, researching and applying what I’ve learnt on my [tag-ice]eczema[/tag-ice] skin.  I decided that natural healing was the path that I wanted to pursue or at least, pay more attention on.  Although I have not tried every single remedy out there, there was enough that I did to help my skin heal.

My pyjamas are no longer stained from blood from open eczema wounds. I don’t lose sleep any more over [tag-dtec]eczema[/tag-dtec] and most certainly hope that I am over them.  To this day, I continue to gain better understanding about how diet works for better skin.  I hope to be eczema-free forever!

Eczema Diet BookAre you looking for a natural eczema treatment? Well, you may want to check out my book on Eczema Diet Secrets. I’ve just launched it and it contains several healing tips using detoxification and diet changes to heal your body and skin.

Long term use of steroids is not a good thing as you can end up with thin and fragile looking skin.  You also weaken your immune system considerably when you take excessive drug medications.  In any case, steroids are meant to be for used for a limited period only.

However, as you well know, you are prone to getting eczema and infections.  Anything can set it off.  Stress, dust mites and an exposure to chemicals can cause skin irritations and an inflammation.

However, there is another way for [tag-tec]natural eczema treatment[/tag-tec], without the use of harmful steroids. you can heal from the inside through detoxification and diet changes.

I have gotten pretty good results as soon as I realised that eczema cannot be healed totally from a jar.  It has to come from within. Eczema is not a disease by itself.  It is in fact a sign of high toxic our bodies are.

Toxicity of the body comes because of the unhealthy foods that we eat, polluted air that we breathe in and the harsh chemicals that we expose ourselves to.  Our bodies are equipped to handle some amount of detoxification on their own but problems occur when there is an overload of toxins due to increased acidity. The organs that are involved in the removal of waste such as organs like the liver, kidney and colon start to slow down. Waste accumulates in the body and toxins start to show up on the skin, manifesting into a condition as you call it – eczema.

Hence, in order for the skin to heal, you must give your body a chance to remove the excess waste and to repair itself. A natural eczema treatment that supports the healing processes of your body, is best.  Amongst others, these can be obtained through the use of nutritional therapy. Nutritional therapy is a way of using diet being food and supplements to asisting the body in healing naturally. For an eczema condition, you would need to detoxify your body, correct vitamin and mineral deficiencies and restore healthy digestion.

Sure, a [tag-ice]natural eczema treatment[/tag-ice] may sound like it takes a lot of effort in having to make drastic diet and lifestyle changes.  But your efforts will be worth it. When your insides are in better health, you will experience better health on your skin.  For more details, you may want to check out my new book Eczema Diet Secrets – now at a special offer price.
