A subscriber to my newsletter kindly wrote to me pointing out that neem, a herbal remedy for eczema, that I recommended is not safe for children under two years old.  Perhaps I’ve not said it often enough: before using any herbal remedy for eczema or even other ailments, you should check with your doctor that it is safe for your case.  If it is for your child, check with your child’s skin specialist.

A herbal remedy for eczema is often preferred for consumption or use as it is known to have fewer side effects as compared to steroids.   While herbal remedies are generally safer, it is not always true as there can also be possible drug interactions, if you are currently undergoing medication.  Some herbs can be potent.  Additionally, if you have diabetes, heart diseases or any lowered immunity, or are pregnant, do ask your doctor first for advice.

Regardless of which herbal remedy for [tag-tec]eczema[/tag-tec] that you take, you should always check for recommended dosages.  Certain herbs, if taken in large quantities, do produce effects like headaches, nausea and constipation.  It is best that you stick to recommended guidelines by your doctor.

Still, herbal remedies do offer a viable alternative to conventional steroid treatments, since they are all natural and should be more suitable for our bodies.

Not all herbs are created equal, however.  Always select a better quality herbal remedy for [tag-dtec]eczema[/tag-dtec].  Choose 100% pure herbal oils, for instance. If possible, go for organic herbs. Obviously you are going to have to pay more for these.  But the cost will be worth it if you want your skin to have proper nourishment. Also, paying more for a quality herbal remedy for [tag-ice]eczema[/tag-ice] can save you tons in fees to see your skin doctor.

I’ve been told by my various friends who are into wellness that [tag-dtec]eczema[/tag-dtec] can be indicative of deeper emotional problems.

If you have [tag-tec]eczema[/tag-tec], do these observations sound familiar to you?

- Intimacy problems i.e. fear of intimacy?
- Are you isolating yourself and why?
- Do you have communication or relationship problems?
- Are there areas of contact and communication that irritate you?
- Do you have heightened sensitivities to certain issues or someone?

If you believe so, then getting to your emotional issues can actually “cure” your [tag-ice]eczema[/tag-ice].  To address emotional issues, there are a number of holistic therapies you can use: homeopathy, EFT (emotional freedom technique) or ayurvedic herbal remedies to help balance your doshas. Since I would be exploring more into these therapies myself, I will be posting more about these when I have new insights.
