Eczema patients know that cotton is best.  But do you know that conventional cotton is also pretty toxic?

California is the only state where farmers are required to provide pesticide use reports. And a  review of this use showed that of the fifteen chemicals that these cotton farmers typically use, seven were probable cancer-causing pesticides, eight caused tumors and five caused mutations.  Chemicals that are used to treat conventional cotton can easily get absorbed through the skin.  An infant’s skin tends to be thinner, thus allowing more chemical toxins to pass through.

If your baby is having eczema, you may find that he is fussy all the time.  Most babies tend to sleep a lot but not yours.  He may be having a lot of difficulty going to sleep or even a good rest if he is uncomfortable.  His skin may be extremely tender and sensitive to the conventional cotton used for his clothes or bedding.  It only makes sense for you to switch to organic cotton.   Organic cotton is not treated and is free of chemicals such as the heavy metals, chlorine, and formaldehydes.  Here is a site that you ought to check out NaturoEco.

Here in the UK I found a range of therapeutic clothing called DermaSilk which is made from medical grade silk. It works much better than cotton in stopping the itching and scratching and seems to adjust to the body temperature much better as well.
My experience suggests its a real alternative to the traditional cotton garments.
