sea horse soup for eczema

I could not understand how this sea horse soup can be delicious. How can a three year old half Caucasian girl (my neighbour’s daugther) like the soup so much to declare it her favourite?

I asked my Cantonese neighbour again. The secret is to add ginger, she said wisely.

So I went back to the TCM store to get more supplies to cook the sea horse soup. I asked if drinking the soup will help eczema. The TCM practitioner answered that as in all traditional medicines, I have to drink it on a regular basis. Give it 6 months, he recommended.

Why sea horse soup for eczema, I asked.  He said that I have toxins in my blood and this is manifesting itself in skin symptoms.  I will need to cleanse my blood and improve blood circulation through traditonal chinese massage, etc. to clear blockages.
So back I went to boiling the soup; this time, with ginger.

My review? I had a hard time drinking the soup yet again. It was black and had a strange taste to it. The ginger improved the flavor slightly and made it slightly more drinkable.

Looking at my expression, my kids swore that they were not to be made to drink the black soup.

In the name of vanity and for my eczema prone skin, I proceeded to boil and drink sea horse soup weekly for three weeks.

After three weeks, I gave up. I just found it hard to swallow the soup. The TCM store had also chopped up the seahorse. I found the tail of the seahorse in my mouth and that was the final straw! I just could not imagine the cute little thing in my throat. No more sea horse soup for me from now on….
