Having suffered for so many years with eczema prone skin, I decided that this time round, I should take more concrete steps. So began a series of steps that I implemented since March this year.
I will first highlight the very first step that I took. It was a plate of squids and some prawns that triggered my eczema in late January. It will be squids and prawns that I give up in the months to follow. My mother-in-law had advised me previously that squids are the most toxic and based on my observations of my skin condition, I had an inkling that she might be right.
Initially I continued to indulge in my favourite asian dishes like mee siam and mee rebus. Ill aware that these recipes contain dried prawns. I later also found out that dried prawns are also best avoided for eczema prone skin. About 2 months ago, I finally eliminated all these yummy favourites from my diet as well.
On reflection, although my itch has not gone away, I feel that giving up seafood was an important step in not allowing my eczema to flare up even further.
